Ubuntu 10.04.2 Released

Sorry for being a bit late on this but the second major maintenance update to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS has been released by the Ubuntu developer team. This release includes updated server, desktop, alternate installation CDs and DVDs for the i386 and amd64 architectures. This update also includes the official derivatives i.e Kubuntu, Xubuntu etc. Numerous updates have been integrated, and updated installation media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded after installation. These include security updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator-trunk avant-window-navigator-data-trunk python-awn-trunk awn-settings-trunk awn-applets-c-core-trunk awn-applets-c-extras-trunk awn-applets-python-core-trunk python-awn-extras-trunk awn-applets-python-extras-trunk

Make sure you donot have any previous version installed from the Ubuntu repository. If yes, then remove it via Synaptic.

Customized Themes for Ubuntu 10.10

Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat as we know it came with really good looks. The default Warty wallpaper and the updated Radiance and Ambiance themes are really an eye-candy. But after a few weeks of regular usage, we are actually bored of the GUI. So we want a change. For that we have found a few themes to be installed in Ubuntu that will give our Ubuntu Gnome Desktop a cool new look. DockbarX 0.40 for Ubuntu 10.10

DockbarX is a free and open-source gnome taskbar applet with grouping and group manipulation. It gives your panel a cool new look and is intended to increase usability of your panels and enable you to use your desktop more efficiently. Ubuntu 10.10: The Perfect 10

Its been just about 6 months since the release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Long Term Support) and we have been eagerly waiting for Ubuntu 10.10 since the release schedule announcement. We have witnessed a lot of changes since Alpha1 release of 10.10. Canonical promised it to be the Perfect 10/10 and now we can say that they have done it and they have done it well. We are really glad to announce the release Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.

The new release is here with a big list of new features like the Linux kernel 2.6.35-22.33 ,  Gnome 2.32, KDE 4.5.1 and much more.
