Ultimate Edition 3.2 Released

Ultimate Edition 3.2 has been released recently and is ready for downloads. It is based upon Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot and like always has a lot of improvements and preinstalled packages in it. All in all a perfect Ubuntu based distro, Ultimate Edition is all set to roll Gnome 3, Gnome Classic, Gnome fallback, Unity, Unity 2D, and XMBC selectable via login screen.  It also has a crisp new GTK/3 theme & comprehensive software packages.

The all new version of popular tweak tool Ubuntu Tweak has just been released which supports Ubuntu 11.10  Oneiric Ocelot having Unity Interface.The software comes up with its old feature set improving just in the terms of supporting Unity and providing all new Interface which looks much better than the previous one.The whole software has been divided into small plug-able “Clips” providing one functionality or the other.Unity support includes tweaking for both 2D and 3D desktops along with support for Compiz.Source list features backup functionality for easy backup and recovery or source lists.Janitor is another feature that has been added allowing you to keep your system clean .

Kubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 Released

Kubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 just released has the latest KDE software including KDE 4.7.1 Plasma Workspaces and Applications. This release has undergone many changes regarding the latest updates, DE improvements and application updates. A few of them are listed below. This release is stable than the previous one but yet again we recommend you either use LiveCD or use Virtual machine for the testing purpose and wait till October for its  final release.

Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 Released

Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 has been released and is ready for downloads. This release has Unity based upon the Gnome 3 desktop, Ubuntu Software Center has been redesigned and many applications have been upgraded to their latest stable versions. Curious fanatics of Ubuntu may run upgrades to get their beta 2 right away but we still recommend to wait for the stable release for production machines and test this one in VMs.

Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 2 now available

Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 2 is now available: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/oneiric/alpha-2/

Basic changes include Unity on top of GNOME 3, Thunderbird 5 replacing Evolution as the default mail client and Kernel 3.0 RC5.

Prefer trying it out in Virtual machine.
