Customized Themes for Ubuntu 11.04

Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal has been released and the servers were really busy last night. We have covered different aspects of Ubuntu 11.04 and its default interface Unity so far. Now we think its time for some more eyecandy stuff for Unity. Talking of Unity, it is itself a great interface with cool looks and enhanced usability. We dont care about what people say but we believe that Unity is the ‘Next Big Thing’. People always resist to adopt something new but after hey get familiar with it, they very well accept it and yet love it. So, coming back to the topic, we have collected a few Themes for your Ubuntu 11.04 Desktops to make them look really cool. Here we go -

Cairo Dock 2.3 for Ubuntu

Cairo Dock – An awesome dock for Ubuntu desktops has been released. As we have already discussed in our previsou post ‘Ultimate Docks for Ubuntu‘, Cairo GLX dock is a dock manager that uses Cairo / OpenGL to render graphics (many in correlation with Compiz) with full hardware acceleration. It’s fully configurable and fully customizable and can be used as a taskbar too. You can easily add applets in the dock or as a desklet. So, its a must have for eyecandy lovers.

Install

Open the terminal and type this -

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cairo-dock-team/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock

and done. Now close the terminal and fireup Cairo dock from Applications>System Tools>Cairo Dock and enjoy.

Ubuntu 11.04 Community & Default Wallpapers Revealed

Eyecandy lovers will love this yet again. The Ubuntu team has announced the Default and Community wallpapers of Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal today. The wallpapers chosen are really cool and you will surely love them.The default wallpaper is reportedly ‘Warty final’ with some modifications and the rest will be available in Ubuntu 11.04 Beta release. Customized Themes for Ubuntu 10.10

Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat as we know it came with really good looks. The default Warty wallpaper and the updated Radiance and Ambiance themes are really an eye-candy. But after a few weeks of regular usage, we are actually bored of the GUI. So we want a change. For that we have found a few themes to be installed in Ubuntu that will give our Ubuntu Gnome Desktop a cool new look.
